There will be music, clogging, heritage demonstration such as black smithing, weaving, hearth side cooking, flintnapping, folk toys, quilting, basket weaving and wood carving, The Wilkes Playmakers will present a portion of the outdoor drama, “The legend of Tom Dooley” and there will be book signings by Karen Reynolds, Wayne Triplett and Collee Riddle and an art exhibit in the Smokehouse Gallery. There will be hay rides for the young and young at heart. There will be barbeque sandwiches, hot dogs and homemade ice cream for sale. The 12 historic buildings will be open for self guided tours. Daniel and Rebecca Boone will be on hand to greet visitors. Admission charge will be a can of food for the Samaritan’s Kitchen or a donation for Relay for Life cancer research.
