Carolina in the Fall™ … thinking about it conjures up images of brilliant colors and cooler temperatures. A time when life slows down and nature’s beauty speeds up! With that as a backdrop, Carolina in the Fall™ brings “New Carolina Music” to the foothills of North Carolina. Heart of Folk, LLC is proud to announce a new (but not so new) music and food festival.
On the old Courthouse Square in historic downtown Wilkesboro, the Kruger Brothers will host some of North Carolina’s best folk/ roots music bands. They will be joined by bands from other areas that tip their hats to the rich musical history of Wilkes, the heart of American Folk Music™. This year’s line-up includes The Kruger Brothers, Rhonda Vincent and the Rage, Balsam Range, The Secret Sisters, Mipso, Barefoot Movementand many others.

We don’t like boxes. But if you put us in a box, we’d prefer a big one. Call us what you will…. americana, indy folk, roots, or just an old-fashioned, new-time banjo and drum band.
Our music resides in this sweet tension between old and new, between heartbreak and redemption, between creation and destruction. Give us a listen and tell us what you think. We’d love to hear from you!
Join us at the Talia Bassment Club on Friday July 10 for a night of entertainment with the Non-Prophets. The Non-Prophets consist of Donnie Story on guitar, Randy Gambill on Mandolin, and Billy Gee on Bass. Tickets are $10 in advance and at the door and can be purchased from Talia Espresso or by calling 336-990-0747.
Heart of Folk present’s Zoe and Cloyd!
Open Mic Night is an opportunity for local artists to get some great experience performing in front of live audiences. We were fortunate to have several Open Mic Nights in 2014, all featuring different artists in an array of music genres. Some artists have been kids that are just learning the play, while others have been playing and singing their entire lives. Open Mic Nights are free and are a lot of fun for the community of Wilkes!
Check them out!
